The fly fishing in northern New Mexico can be as hot as
the chili . Whether you like to fish small mountain streams or the blue
medal waters of the San Juan River below Navajo dam, A lifetime of fishing
adventures awaits the curious angler. I have had the great experience of
fishing many of the waters of Northern New Mexico and have found each stream
to be totally unique and special in its own way.
New Mexico Waters provide
the angler opportunities to catch Rainbow, Brown and our native Rio Grande
Cutthroat a delicate and endangered species. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains
are home to many of Northern New Mexico's great Trout streams as well as
high alpine lakes. The Pecos River and it's tributaries are the closest
to Santa Fe and some of the most beautiful freestone fishing I have ever
experienced. The Mighty Rio Grande hosts large Browns and Rainbows but
only to the most patient anglers.
If you are looking to experience New
Mexico fly fishing this resource will provide you a good jump off point.
Stop by Sangre de Cristo Mountain Works for all you camping needs and fishing
information too. A life time of fishing awaits you. Remeber to practice
catch and release to preserve our delicate fisheries for future generations.Tight
Lines.
